FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a catalytic method of carrying out a partial oxidation reaction of dimethoxymethane (DMM) in order to obtain a gas-rich gas mixture, which can be used to supply fuel elements for various purposes, including for fuel elements installed on movable means. Described is use of Group VIII metals supported on ZrO2-CeO2 oxide support, as a catalyst for producing hydrogen-enriched gaseous mixture by partial oxidation of dimethoxymethane with atmospheric oxygen, wherein catalyst includes platinum up to 5 wt%, or ruthenium up to 5 wt%, or rhodium up to 3 wt%, the rest is ZrO2-CeO2.
EFFECT: almost complete conversion of dimethoxymethane DMM into a gas mixture containing about 60 vol% synthesis of gas (H2+CO).
