FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing an article made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET), which is obtained from biological material. Method of producing an article from polyethylene terephthalate involves first obtaining at least one component required to obtain PET from at least one material containing biological substances. PET component is monoethylene glycol (MEG) or terephthalic acid (TC) or combinations thereof. Material containing biological substances represents wood-industrial wastes or agricultural wastes. Method then includes processing said component to obtain PET. Thereafter, PET is solid-phase polymerised to form PET polymer. Further, the obtained PET polymer is processed into an article. PET preforms, PET packages and combinations thereof can be obtained as an article.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain articles from polyethylene terephthalate with good properties.
