SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of producing a bio-based polyethylene terephthalate (PET) polymer from at least one terephthalate compound obtained from at least one biologically based material, and at least one monoethylene glycol compound obtained from at least one biologically based material. Method involves polymerisation by esterification of a terephthalate compound and a monoethylene glycol compound in the presence of at least one crystallisation inhibiting compound, wherein the crystallisation inhibiting compound is isosorbide, obtained from at least one material on a biological basis, and esterification is carried out at pressure of 270–550 kPa and temperature of 150–280 °C. Also disclosed is a bio-based PET polymer obtained using said method, method of producing a bio-based PET product from a bio-based PET polymer, and a bio-based PET product.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a PET polymer completely obtained from biologically based materials.
