FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, specifically to ophthalmology. For organ-preserving treatment of choroidic melanoma of juxta- and parapapillary localization, first laser coagulation is performed, and then in 1-2 days – brachytherapy. Juxtapapillary localization of melanoma involves limiting and destructive laser coagulation of the optic disc, partially capturing the tumor. If the parapapillary tumor is localized, there is a boundary laser coagulation between the optic nerve disc and the tumor boundary.
EFFECT: method increases radiosensitivity of the tumor, which provides the most complete destruction of the tumor with formation of the chorioretinal scar and corresponding prevention of recurrence.
