SUBSTANCE: invention relates to braking system (1) of a railway vehicle comprising braking device (2) having body (7); a single brake piston (8) movable relative to said body to act on brake linkage (5) and together with body limiting high pressure chamber (17), supply into which is provided from source (55, 57) of working medium for installation of piston into rest position, in which brake lever mechanism does not apply force to braking element (6) of railway vehicle; first and second seals (28, 30), installed between first part (21) of brake piston and body; and third and fourth seals (32, 34), installed between second part (22) of brake piston and body, wherein first and third seals form main means of sealing high pressure chamber and second and fourth seals form additional means of sealing of said chamber.

EFFECT: invention provides a simple, convenient and cheap way to ensure the level of safety of the brake system.
