FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment, specifically to braided elongated materials, such as surgical sutures, and their manufacture. Surgical suture comprises an elongated tubular sleeve surrounding an elongated tubular cavity. Suture is free of the core. Sleeve comprises multifibre threads woven together. Sleeve is free from any single-fibre threads. Multi-fibre thread comprises fibres, and fibres contain polymer chains. Polymer chains in at least some fibres represent ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene. Fibres in multifibre threads are twisted together at 8–24 turns per centimetre. Sutures in the sleeve are woven together at 150–250 turns per meter, wherein 70 % or less threads are made from ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene. In the second embodiment, the surgical suture comprises an elongated tubular sleeve. Sleeve comprises multifibre threads. Multifibre fibre consists of fibres of ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene and nylon fibres. Fibre contains polymer chains which represent ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene, and nylon fibres contain polymer chains which are nylon. Fibres in multifibre fibre are twisted together at 8–24 turns per centimetre. Sutures in the sleeve are woven together at 150–350 turns per meter. Suture thread has size 2 according to USP, and 70 % or less of its threads are made of ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene. Method for producing an initial material for the above surgical suture, which can be cut in order to form a surgical suture, wherein the initial material for the surgical suture contains an elongated tubular sleeve which surrounds the elongated tubular cavity, the initial suture material does not contain a core. According to the method, multifibre threads are weaved together at 8–24 turns per centimetre, wherein the multifibre threads are made of ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene fibres and nylon fibres, and ultrahigh molecular weight fibre comprises polymer chains, which are ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene, and nylon fibres contain polymer chains, which are nylon, wherein the multifibre fibres are twisted to 150–350 turns per meter, wherein 70 % or less of the suture filament yarns are made from ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene.
EFFECT: use of inventions makes it possible to ensure production of braided sutures, including braided surgical sutures for wound suturing, and also provides for production of initial material for suture.
