FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical equipment, namely, to a surgical thread consisting of a non-absorbable core, braiding of multifilament threads, and an absorbable coating. The braiding is made of absorbable multifilament threads. The coating is applied to the core and/or braiding so that the core is isolated from contact with the surrounding tissues and biological fluids in the scarring period.
EFFECT: multicomponent surgical thread wherein the non-absorbable core is fully isolated from contact with the surrounding tissues and biological fluids in the scarring period by an absorbable coating and absorbable braiding reducing the proportion of the non-absorbable component in the thread and protecting the coating from mechanical damage.
