SUBSTANCE: system for manufacturing serrated braided sutures comprises the filament winding device and the guide assembly comprising at least one opening for feeding a serrated insert, determining a passage for orientation of the serrated insert. The guide assembly is made with the ability to supply at least one serrated insert from the opening to feed in the filament winding device for winding a plurality of fibres around at least one serrated insert for manufacturing serrated braided sutures. The passage of the opening for supplying is made with the ability to provide longitudinal movement of the serrated insert relative to the passage and at the same time to prevent twisting movement of the serrated insert relative to the passage. In the process of supplying the serrated insert the opening for feeding the serrated insert can be selectively rotated to rotate the serrated insert in the course of winding the fibres around it. The passage can be an oblong slot which width is greater than the height.
