FIELD: communication equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication engineering and can be used to provide measurement results of time difference relative to reference signal (RSTD) for observed arrival time difference (OTDOA) from wireless device to positioning server. Method comprises steps of sending, from a wireless node to a positioning server, the possibility of supporting OTDOA positioning measurements using RSTD in multi-path propagation, method includes receiving, from a positioning server on a wireless node, an OTDOA positioning request using a multi-path RSTD. Method comprises steps of receiving, from a positioning server on a wireless node, auxiliary data, providing detailed information on required measurements of positioning by OTDOA, using RSTD in multi-beam propagation, and receiving, at wireless node, a signal from RSTD reference cell and neighboring cell. Method comprises steps of observing, on a wireless node, a time difference between received signals, thereby obtaining the required OTDOA positioning measurement results using the RSTD in multi-beam propagation, and required OTDOA positioning measurement results are sent using RSTD in multi-beam propagation from a wireless node to a positioning server.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of positioning accuracy.
