FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication. In the wireless device (UE) for generating messages on measurements during positioning, auxiliary network information is received from the network node. Auxiliary network information serves to assist the wireless device when performing the observed signal arrival time difference (OTDOA) and comprises: a list of reference cells; neighbour cells list; and rule for completion of measurements of time difference of reference signals arrival (RSTD). Performing RSTD-measurements between a cell in the list of reference cells and a cell in a list of neighbouring cells. When the RSTD measurement satisfies the rule for completing RSTD measurements, messages are generated by RSTD measurements to the network node. When the RSTD measurement does not satisfy the rule for completing RSTD measurements, another RSTD measurement is performed between the cell in the list of reference cells and the cell in the list of neighbouring cells.

EFFECT: technical result consists in minimization of measurement process when determining UE position.
