FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to electric engineering, to magnetohydrodynamic generators. Generator (10) comprises channel (11) for working medium, limited by first wall (12) and second wall (13), ionizing device (14) for ionisation of working medium, pair of crossbars (15), each of which connects first and second walls (12, 13) after said ionizing device (14) so that in channel (11) to limit channel (16) between said crossbars (15) and said walls (12, 13). Channel (16) is located so that a portion of the working medium passes through it after ionisation. Magnet is intended for creation of magnetic field (B) directed perpendicularly to flow of working medium through channel (16) limited by pair of crossbars (15) and mentioned walls (12, 13). Each of electrodes (17) in each pair is located on the corresponding side of channel (16) limited by a pair of crossbars (15) with mentioned walls (12, 13). Electrodes (17) in each pair are spaced apart in direction perpendicular to magnetic field (B) and direction of flow of working medium through channel (16) limited by pair of crossbars (15) and said walls (12, 13).
EFFECT: technical result is broader operational capabilities.
