FIELD: technical diagnostics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technical diagnostics and can be used to determine technical state of starter directly on object, for example, automobile. Method for starter diagnostics consists in the fact that fuel supply into engine cylinders is excluded, thus providing impossibility of engine start-up during diagnostics performance, storage battery is charged, ambient temperature not less than 15 °C to exclude the possibility of reducing the viscosity of engine oil is cranked by the starter motor for 10 seconds, wherein current of starter relay consumption, starter voltage and current consumption at idle speed, starter armature rotation frequency are determined for further direct comparison of obtained values with reference values for diagnosed starter, take break for 7 minutes for complete recovery of storage battery, include direct transmission in gearbox, engine brake with parking brake and working brake, under vehicle wheels there are special stops, determining EMF of storage battery, switch on instruments and starter into engine starting position for 3–5 sec, engine start does not occur, wherein starter gear engages with engine flywheel rim teeth, which is completely braked through the vehicle transmission and tries to rotate it, the full braking current will flow through the starter, which is recorded together with the voltage on the starter, based on the obtained results, determining the maximum electromagnetic power of the starter, comparing obtained data of current consumption of starter relay, starter voltage and current consumption at idle, rotation frequency of starter anchor, EMF, full braking current and voltage at the starter, maximum electromagnetic power of the starter with reference for the diagnosed starter and making a conclusion on its technical condition.
EFFECT: improved reliability of control of starter technical condition by means of expansion of number of diagnosed parameters, exclusion of possibility of failure of starter elements, engine and vehicle transmission during diagnostics.
