FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: methods are proposed for control of electromagnetic bypass valve of direct injection fuel pump, in which voltage is supplied to electromagnetic bypass valve or supply voltage is stopped in compliance with certain conditions. Disclosed is an exemplary control strategy for operation of a direct injection fuel pump when fuel vapour is detected at the inlet of a fuel injection pump. To ensure the required pump efficiency and to provide the required amount of fuel supply to the nozzles by the pump at the required pressure, in the presence of fuel vapours it is possible to maintain the electromagnetic bypass valve of the pump in a state, when voltage is supplied to it, during minimum angular duration after position of upper dead point of piston in fuel pump of direct injection.

EFFECT: invention can be used in fuel management systems for internal combustion engines.
