FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: current collection failure are accompanied by sparking or electric arc, which have a different destructive effect on the contact wire, the degree of which can be determined by optical radiation from the current-terminal breakage. When implementing the method, the diagnostic energy used is the radiation energy measured together with the duration of the current collection failure, as well as the speed of the vehicle. Based on the obtained measurements, the hazard factor and degree of hazard of the impact of the current collection failure on the contact wire is calculated. Invention makes it possible to perform continuous control of quality of interaction of contact suspension and current collectors and, which is especially important for operation of overhead system, to detect degree of danger of current collection failure.
EFFECT: wider capabilities of diagnosing current collection faults, higher efficiency, reliability and reliability.
