FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a laser system with multibeam output radiation (versions) and a method of welding workpieces. System represents a multi-laser system which delivers output radiation to at least three fibres arranged in circumferential direction or the output radiation of at least four separate lasers from the same working cable. Invention allows to control at least three laser modules and to supply respectively their output radiation in preset sequence inside one working cable thus providing multiple stages of workpiece processing, which previously required separate optical system for each beam.
EFFECT: output radiation of at least three lasers is optimized for use in making point welded joints, seam welded joints or virtual oscillating welded joints when used for seam welding.
