METHOD OF SURGICAL TREATMENT OF PHLEGMON OF PALMAR SURFACE OF HAND Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61B17/00

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to surgery. Suppurative focus is exposed by a semi-petal cut with a skin fold with 2–3 mm excision of the flap with a convexity towards the maximum fluctuation along the whole length of the suppurative focus. Binding of carpal canal is dissected through separate skin incision with neurovascular bundle decompression in carpal canal. Method allows wide access, at the same time to form a cicatrix along the crease line, which preserves the biomechanics of the hand and minimizes the defect of the skin, besides, the method allows complete inspection and sanitation of the suppurative centre with selection of rational drainage. In the postoperative period, wound edges do not adhere, allowing for dynamic cytological control over the course of the wound process; during dressing, it is easier to hold the rubber graduates through the wound.

EFFECT: method enables faster management of inflammatory soft tissue oedema of hand, reduces pain syndrome and control of concealed infection spread.
