FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the use of explosion energy and is intended for conversion thereof into energy of high-power electromagnetic pulse. Explosive generator consists of metal housing in the form of either two isolated flat plates of aluminium or aluminium-magnesium alloy with thickness of not more than 0.5 mm, or in form of connected together isolated thin-wall shells of rotation: semi-spheres, semi-ellipsoids or combined shells "hemisphere-cylinder", "semi-ellipsoid-cylinder". Inside the body there is a main charge of high-blasting explosive in the form of aluminium-containing mixed crystalline or plastic, or elastic explosive, or composition with thickness (diameter) at least twice exceeding critical diameter of its detonation. Detonation initiation system includes two single-type explosive elements - initiating devices located in isolated gaps of the housing on one axis, directed upwards towards each other and used simultaneously. If necessary, initiation system may additionally contain transfer and/or booster charge-detonators. Device housing can have longitudinal and/or transverse corrugations, and in middle part of main explosive charge at equidistant distance from explosive elements - initiating devices there can be layer of plasma-forming composition.
EFFECT: significant simplification of design and manufacturing technology of the device, its miniaturization, considerable reduction of power consumption from on-board power sources and complete rejection of external EMF sources, universality of the device is provided irrespective of conditions of its application, including a method of device delivery to a place of actuation (barrel artillery, mortar, reactive systems, any aircrafts).
