SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hybrid vehicles. In the hybrid vehicle operating mode selection method, an evaluation variable is determined for each of the specified target criteria. For each mode of operation of the first selection of possible operating modes, possible power distribution in the transmission is determined. For each operating mode of the first selection, values of evaluation variables are determined for each of determined power allocations of the corresponding operation mode. Optimum distribution of power in transmission is determined by means of certain values of evaluation variables for the corresponding operating mode. Optimum operating mode is selected by means of those values of evaluation variables, which indicate it for modes of operation of the first selection respectively in operating point of certain optimum power distribution.

EFFECT: optimized operation of vehicle.
