Control device for fail-safe driving of a hybrid vehicle comprising a first coupler connecting and disconnecting a motor and an electric motor and the second clutch connecting and disconnecting the electric motor and transmission, comprises a coupler failure detection module. Controller switches between HEV and EV mode. In this case, the controller prohibits the transition from the HEV mode to the EV mode, when the coupler failure detection module detects a failure in the activated state of the second clutch during movement in the HEV mode.
EFFECT: increased distance traveled when the coupling fails.
