FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to oncology, and can be used for treating locally advanced malignant growths of oral cavity and oropharynx. Cryosurgical exposure to liquid nitrogen followed by chemoradiation therapy. Before cryosurgical exposure, an external carotid artery is ligated on the side of the oropharyngeal tumor localization above the anterior thyroid artery. Liquid nitrogen is pumped to the tumor by cryoprobes with liquid nitrogen at -198 °C. Performing 2–3 cycles of freezing-thawing with exposure of 5 minutes. Number and diameter of cryoprobes are selected so that formed at ends of cryoprobes ice spheres fully correspond to volume of new growth. 21 days after the cryosurgical exposure in the simultaneous mode, an adjuvant conformal remote radiation therapy is performed on the cryotherapy region in a combination with the chemotherapy with platinum-containing preparations and 5-fluorouracil.

EFFECT: method provides radical ablation of tumor, reduced invasiveness of surgical approach, traumatism in surrounding healthy tissues due to combination of cryosurgical exposure to liquid nitrogen with chemoradiation therapy.
