FIELD: radar ranging and radio navigation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radar techniques and is intended for extraction of Doppler portraits of aerial objects of identification features, namely frequency and amplitude of spectral response corresponding scattering centres. Technical result is high frequency resolution, which enables improves information value of identification features, contained in structure of Doppler portraits. To achieve said result by linear prediction, method includes checking structure of Doppler portraits in at possible presence therein of additional spectral components corresponding to scattering centres on illuminated surface of aerial objects, which during standard operation of discrete Fourier transformation with complex values of reflecting characteristics of aerial objects due to low resolution are not detected.
EFFECT: present method enables in formed Doppler portraits of aerial objects to observe additional spectral responses, which indicates high Doppler frequency transverse resolution.
