FIELD: veterinary science; medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and veterinary science and can be used for prevention, treatment, prevention of recurrences of mastitis in animals, in particular cattle, goats, sheep, swine, dogs of large breeds. Method involves the oral administration of an agent based on the culture of the lactobacilli Fermentum CEPT 5716 strain. Agent is prescribed in a daily dosage of 3 to 12 billion units. Treatment is continued for at least 10 days until the target clinical values are achieved. Object of the invention is to develop a method of treating and preventing various forms and stages of mastitis in animals, which for a short period of time, with high effectiveness and safety provides the possibility of treating, reduces the use of antibiotics, as well as their ingestion into milk and milk products, provides prevention of antibiotic resistance and formation of insensitive strains in animal breeding and medicine, as well as increases milk yield and quality.
EFFECT: method provides reliable, painless, low-labor treatment of various forms and stages of mastitis, as well as increased milk yield.
