METHOD OF PRODUCING SHELLS FROM SQUARE-SHAPED SHEET WORKPIECES Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC B21D22/20 B21D51/10 

FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming, particularly, to die tooling intended for drawing square-shaped sheet workpieces, as a result of which cylindrical or square in plan shells are produced. Method of producing shells from sheet workpieces of square shape includes installation of square billet with side "a" on stencils on clamp with orientation of angular sections with sliders moving in radial direction, drawing with clamping of square billet in matrix with cylindrical or square working cavity. Extruding angular sections of square billet between clamp and puncheon matrix, with radial displacement of sliders by value S=0.143a and process stroke of puncheon matrix h=SctgQ, where Q=30÷45° is an inclination angle of the side surface of the slider, and drawing is performed to produce a shell. Extraction of angular sections of square billet is performed by value of 0.7S, and then together with drawing at radial movement of slides by value 0.5S, which is performed with radial pushing of flange section of billet by force of extrusion.

EFFECT: as a result, production of casings without crowns on the open end from a square workpiece, expansion of technological capabilities and saving of metal.
