SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metal forming by pressure and can be used to obtain metal shells with variable wall thickness along the perimeter. The device contains a stepped punch and a stepped die with upper and lower cylindrical working belts. The lateral surface of the cavities of the steps and the upper working band of the matrix have recesses. The lower working collar is made corresponding in shape and size to the outer surface of the shell. The punch is made with a step between the steps with a height equal to the thickness of the sheet blank. The lateral surface of the upper stage of the punch has protrusions made with the possibility of inserting them into the recesses of the upper working shoulder of the matrix and the cavities of the matrix. The lower step of the punch has a non-cylindrical shape. The distance between the working belts of the matrix and the length of the lower step of the punch are equal to the height of the semi-finished product obtained after drawing the sheet blank.
