FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method for producing coated glass fibers and composite materials based thereon for producing articles in additive technology. Method of producing coated glass fibers involves dressing glass fiber by applying dressing material from the solution with subsequent drying. Coupling agent is applied from the solution with mass concentration of 0.23–0.91 % in an organic volatile solvent and stepped temperature is increased with simultaneous distillation of the solvent according to the following conditions: 30 °C is 25 minutes; 35 °C is 25 minutes; 40 °C is 30 minutes; 50 °C is 30 minutes. Finishing agent used is a thermoplastic copolymer – copolyhydroxyether based on di(4-oxyphenyl)-sulphone, di(4-oxyphenyl)-propane and 3-chloro-1,2-epoxypropane of formula:

where n=80÷95, in a volatile organic solvent methylene chloride. Amount of finishing agent to the glass fiber corresponds to 1–4 wt%.

EFFECT: invention increases wettability of the filler and increases interaction between the filler and the polyether imide matrix.
