FIELD: radar ranging.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radar probing using single ultra-wideband (UWB) signals and can be used in probing several nearby objects, for example, a group aerial target of several aircraft. Method comprises emitting an N-petal probing radio pulse, receiving a reflected signal in a selected time window, processing it in K parallel channels, where K/N = 2, 3, 4, ..., in each of the K channels, the received reflected signal is multiplied by a signal identical to the probing N-petaled radio pulse, delayed in each channel in time relative to the previous one by the channel number by the value T/(K-1), where T is the duration of the N-petal probing radio pulse, the result obtained in each of the K parallel channels is a single integration result, displaying the obtained result for display on an indicator, based on the observation results of several bright marks on the indicator, a conclusion is made on the detection of the group air target and the number of targets in the group is estimated.

EFFECT: high resolution of radar UWB probing nearby objects and high efficiency of obtaining results.
