FIELD: radar ranging.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radar and can be used in broadband multifunctional microwave range radar systems using noise-like signals, which main task is the radar environment assessment and analysis, including the given space area survey, targets searching and detection, determining their coordinates and updating the flight path parameters. In the disclosed method, a multi-element transmitting device is used, which generates a probing signal which is a sum of several noise-like signals in several wide adjacent frequency bands without overlapping, each of which is emitted by a self-contained transmitter, and a broadband receiving system consisting of 2 or more receiving elements with a predetermined total bandwidth equal to the entire frequency range of the generated probing signal, using single-antenna receiving elements in the noise-like signal reflected from the object recording mode, or two-antenna receiving elements in interferometric mode with correlation processing.
EFFECT: high range and reliability of detecting objects in air and near-earth space (space debris, nearby asteroids).
