FIELD: calculating; counting.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the computer equipment. Video signal decoding method includes obtaining of quantised coefficients of current block from video signal; obtaining the inverse quantisation coefficients of the current block by performing inverse quantisation of the quantised coefficients; determining a set of possible transformations related to the current block from among several sets of possible transformations containing one or more possible transformation methods, wherein each of several sets of possible transformations has a different from the other number of possible conversion methods or different from other types of possible conversion methods; determining a transformation mode of a current block among one or more possible conversion methods contained in a defined set of possible transformations based on information indicating a method of transforming the current block; and obtaining difference samples of the current block from the inverse quantisation coefficients based on the determined conversion mode.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of conversion efficiency.
