FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to treatment of ferrous metals and can be used in production of wheeled railway bandages. Prior to application of impact-point marking, outer lateral surface of bandage is first subjected to preliminary mechanical treatment by turning with provision of roughness parameter of not more than Rz80, thereafter, pointwise point marking is performed with sign depth varying from 0.1 to 1.2 mm and height from 10 to 15 mm. Note here that marking base is arranged at 22 to 32 mm from inner cylindrical surface of thrust collar. Use of the disclosed method for production of railway bandages ensures elimination of breaks of bandages by marking marks, increase of their reliability and safety of locomotive shrouds in operation.
