FIELD: railway transport.
SUBSTANCE: billet is heated for rolling, multi-pass roughing and finishing rolling, respectively, in duo-reversing stands and in universal stands of a continuous-reversing group, followed by differential cooling along the rail head and foot from a temperature of 720 - 870°C to a temperature of 450 - 600°C. Rough rolling is carried out in a temperature range of 950 - 1100°C with a stretch ratio per pass in the range of 1.12-1.30. Finishing rolling is carried out in the temperature range of 850 - 1000°C with an elongation ratio in universal calibers in the range of 1.07-1.18, after which finishing rolling is carried out in a freestanding universal non-reversing stand in a temperature range of 820–880°C with within 1.07-1.10.
EFFECT: as a result, rails of increased wear resistance and contact endurance are manufactured.
