SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology, specifically to methods of producing a recombinant neurotrophin polypeptide by splitting a neurotrophin pro polypeptide with IgA protease, where the endogenous enzymatic cleavage site between the pro-segment and the neurotrophin polypeptide is replaced with the IgA-protease cleavage site.
EFFECT: invention enables highly effective production of active nerve growth factor (NGF) polypeptides, cerebral neurotrophic factor (BDNF), neurotrophin 3 (NT-3) and neurotrophin 4 (NT-4).
