SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hybrid vehicles. In the energy recuperation method in the hybrid vehicle, recuperation power is set for the electric machine recuperation mode by the value providing the possibility of the recuperation mode with the electric machine maximum generator capacity, if current battery energy level is less or equal to threshold value. Then, recuperation power is set to a value smaller than the first value and provides possibility of recuperation mode with reduced generator capacity of electric machine if current level of accumulator energy exceeds threshold value. For the current operating state of the vehicle, recuperation energy is predicted, which indicates how much energy could be recovered if the car, starting from the instantaneous state of driving, would be braked to a threshold speed value.
