FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to protection of automotive electronic systems. In the method of preventing spoofing in an automotive network, storing the address of the first electronic vehicle control unit and detecting a message from a plurality of second electronic control units via a communication bus. Outgoing address of the message corresponds to the address of the electronic control unit. It is determined that the said message was transmitted using a source other than the electronic control unit and that the source is an outgoing spoofing device. Negative acknowledgment (NACK) message is generated and transmitted to the module via a communication bus, transmitting a command to the plurality of second electronic control units to take no action on said message. Output spoofing device is brought into disconnection state after receiving preset number NACK. State of disconnection from the bus is the removal of the originating spoofing device from the communication bus.
EFFECT: improved protection against unauthorized access.
