FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in production of adsorbents for gas cleaning and gas processing, catalysts. Method of obtaining fine powder of aluminum monohydroxide of pseudo-boehmite structure includes amorphization of aluminum trihydrate of gibbsite structure by means of sharp heating up to 450 °C for 2–3 s. Amorphous aluminum oxide is repulped in a solution of ammonium nitrate or ammonium carbonate with concentration of 0.5–10 g/l at pH 7–8 and temperature of 40–60°C. Suspension is then filtered and washed. Washed product is plasticized in a nitrate solution at pH 3–4 and temperature 160–170 °C. Water is added to the product of plastification to solid : liquid ratio equal to 1:(6–8). Obtained suspension is subjected to spray drying in flue gas environment at 140–170 °C.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain finely dispersed aluminum monohydroxide with pseudo-boehmite structure with specific surface area of 220–300 m2/g, improved purification of the product from sodium.
