FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processes of water gas conversion, specifically to a method for increasing content of hydrogen in a mixture of synthesis gas containing hydrogen, carbon oxides and steam. Method comprises steps of: (i) passing a mixture of synthesis gas at inlet temperature in range of 300–450 °C above first water gas shift catalyst arranged in first conversion tank to form first mixture of converted gas and (ii) passing the first mixture of converted gas at inlet temperature in range of 170–300 °C above the second water gas shift catalyst arranged in the second conversion tank to form a second mixture of converted gas. At that, the second water gas conversion catalyst contains copper, and in the first conversion tank there is sorbent material intended for polluting halogens trapping located downstream the first water gas conversion catalyst.
EFFECT: technical result consists in reducing the risk of repeated deposition of soluble components in copper-containing catalysts.
