FIELD: measurement technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for high-accuracy measurement of Q-factor of resonators used in various fields of engineering and scientific research. Method of measuring Q-factor of resonator consists in the fact that when measuring Q-factor of circuit by frequency detuning at measurement frequency circuit is tuned to resonance by changing tuning capacitance, at that, accurate adjustment of the circuit to resonance is not required, then the train of the sinusoidal oscillation on the circuit is registered for a certain period of time, followed by recording the train of sinusoidal oscillations at two frequencies within the upper part of the resonance curve below and above the resonant frequency at similar time intervals, each of the three recorded train of sinusoidal oscillations is smoothened by a regression in the form of a sinusoid and determining amplitude of oscillations of each of trains, after which three values of frequency and calculated voltage amplitudes on circuit determine value of Q- factor by calculation.

EFFECT: high accuracy of measuring the Q-factor of the circuit.
