Controller is configured to receive the first signal from the first sensor, determine the position of the coal cutter based on the first signal, receive the second signal from the second sensor, determining the conveyor load based on the second signal, determining the performance of the mining system based on the position of the cutter and the load of the conveyor, and controlling the speed of the coal cutter based on the performance of the mining system.
