FIELD: electric power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method of limitation of short circuit current includes phase-by-phase input of reactive elements connected in series with wires of power transmission line. According to the method, reactive elements in the form of solenoids identical in design and nominal parameters are created, in each of which the winding turns are able to shift relative to each other in the axial direction. Solenoids are connected to each other in parallel to form reactive receivers with identical nominal parameters, which are connected to the network in phase-by-phase and in series with power transmission lines. Besides, each solenoid is equipped with magnetic conductor consisting of two coaxial ferromagnetic tubes located in radial direction on opposite sides of solenoid winding. In normal mode of the network to increase the air gap in the magnetic conductor, the external ferromagnetic pipe is screened by the solenoid self-winding, for which the height of the solenoid winding is taken to be greater than the height of the ferromagnetic tubes, in short-circuit mode with solenoid compression by axial electrodynamic forces, first, smooth increase of solenoid reactance is performed, and from the moment when the solenoid reaches the height smaller than the height of the ferromagnetic tubes, when the screening action of the solenoid winding is removed to the outer ferromagnetic tube, the reactive resistance of each solenoid is increased and, consequently, the reactive reactance of the reactive receiver as a whole increases.
EFFECT: high efficiency of current limitation and reduced power losses.
