FIELD: electrical communication engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication. Device may receive signaling from a base station which indicates different tone indices. Apparatus can further transmit a plurality of symbols in a single-tone uplink transmission. In one aspect, groups of symbols in a plurality of symbols are transmitted using different single-tone uplink transmission tone indices indicated by the received signalling. Second device can signal, at least to one user equipment (UE), information associated with different tone indices, for use in transmission of multiple symbols in single-tone uplink transmission. Second device may additionally receive multiple symbols in single-tone transmission of uplink. In one aspect, pairs of symbols in a plurality of symbols are received in different tone indices of an uplink single-tone transmission.
EFFECT: enabling single-tone uplink transmission using NB-LTE.
