RAN node is operable to calculate the time remaining to the next paging capability for the wireless device in the paging area of the wireless device, wherein the calculation uses the wireless device international mobile subscriber identifier (IMSI), the wireless extended discontinuous reception (eDRX) cycle length and the wireless device coverage class; and transmit to base network (CN) node information indicating time remaining to next paging capability for wireless device.

EFFECT: cell coordination in time and reliability of paging of wireless device.
