SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of assembly production and can be used to introduce a radially expandable sealing ring into a rotary cup-like holder having a disc-shaped base along the circumference of which there is an outer wall with an inner side of the wall. Method includes rotation of holder around its axis together with arranged in it sealing ring with speed, at which expansion of sealing ring is provided in radial direction to adjoining its outer circumferential surface to inner side of wall of holder, wherein holder is used, containing horizontally oriented central retaining rod having helical surface, wherein sealing ring is suspended vertically to loading end of retaining rod and moving along rod helical surface to holder base inner surface by means of holder rotation with rod with speed, not leading to expansion of sealing ring, after which holder is rotated with rate providing expansion of sealing ring.
EFFECT: use of invention makes it possible to automate process of installation of sealing ring.
