FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pyrotechnic compositions used in meteorological rockets for impact on lightning storm clouds in order to artificially induce precipitation and to control hail. Pyrotechnic composition for action on supercooled clouds, comprising ammonium perchlorate, phenol-formaldehyde resin, dicyandiamide, mixture of finely ground powders of silver, potassium and copper iodides, graphite, industrial oil, technical carbon as process additives, additionally contains fine zinc powder with particle size of 0.01–0.05 mm.

EFFECT: disclosed pyrotechnic composition significantly increases the yield of ice-forming particles per gram of the composition in the temperature range of the cloud medium from zero to minus 14 °C.
