SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and can be used for prediction of risk of developing retinal vein occlusion in post-preeclampsia women. Anatomical eye value is evaluated. Anatomical eye value is an optic nerve area. If observing a combination of microalbuminuria of 30 mg/l and more and an optic disc area of less than 1.5 mm2 in the third trimester of pregnancy high risk of developing retinal vein occlusions is predicted.

EFFECT: method enables predicting a high risk of developing retinal vein occlusions at various postpartum intervals in women diagnosed with preeclampsia by taking into account the anatomical eye-area of the optic nerve disk specific for the vascular system of the eye, and endothelial dysfunction as a systemic preeclampsia factor, which is confirmed by the presence of microalbuminuria.
