FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology and obstetrics, and can be used in prediction of a vascular pathology of the posterior segment of an eye in women suffering pre-eclampsia. For this purpose, women with preeclampsia are examined for the vascular bed of the macular area by optical coherence tomography with angiography (angio-OCT) at 35-36 week of pregnancy and 6 months after delivery. If the re-examination shows a combination of reducing total average vascular density in the superficial vascular plexus by 15 % or more, increasing the avascular zone area at the level of the superficial vascular plexus by 15 % and more and reducing the subfoveal thickness of choroid by 10 % and more, diagnosing a high risk of vascular pathology of the posterior segment of the eye.
EFFECT: method provides reliable determination of risk of vascular pathology of the posterior segment of an eye in postpartum period in pre-eclampsia patients without any invasive procedures.
