FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods and means of protection against ionizing radiation during space flights. Protection method includes creation of protective static electric or magnetic field localized in space between two enclosed each other closed, geometrically continuous noncontracting surfaces, and simultaneous exposure to an additional electrostatic field enabling electrostatic deceleration of charged particles passing from space into the protected space, with simultaneous recuperation of their energy and neutralization of the electric charge. Additional electrostatic field is localized between additional geometrically continuous non-touching surfaces successively arranged inside the protected space towards space vehicle (SC), wherein closest to SC surface is a honeycomb surface, and second additional surface is a mesh screen, cells of which are isolated from each other.
EFFECT: improved reliability and power efficiency of protection.
