FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: claimed invention relates to devices for measurement of distance traveled by in-pipe inspection devices of technical condition of pipelines, oil product pipelines, in particular, to wheel odometers. Odometer includes fixed bracket connected by means of spring-loaded element with lever, on which measuring wheel is installed. Measuring wheel comprises a protective casing and an axis, in the end part of which there is a hermetically installed magnetic encoder coupled with a magnet placed outside the end part of the axis inside the protective casing. Magnet used is a magnet of transverse magnetization.

EFFECT: increased resolution of in-pipe inspection device due to application of measuring element based on encoder in odometer.
