SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of agriculture, in particular to rice growing. Method for preparation of soil for rice sowing in steam field of rice crop rotation, including autumn treatment of soil by disking, harrowing, sowing of winter and wintering intermediate crops, their harvesting, performance of capital layout of check plane with simultaneous repair of water and outlet irrigation network operating in free outflow mode, restoration of check rolls and roads, then on the surface of the checks, creating a maximum layer of water, maintaining it till the end of the irrigation season, wherein the soil is maintained in the state of maximum moisture capacity during the entire winter period, after which the density of the arable horizon reaches 1.05–1.1 t/m³, rice sowing, characterized by that during winter and wintering intermediate crops sowing, water level changes in the water outlet irrigation network are controlled to achieve soil plough-layer moisture content of 60–80 % of the minimum moisture capacity, wherein the water outlet irrigation network operates in a backup mode during the autumn-spring period, then rice is sown.

EFFECT: method provides higher efficiency of crops as a result of reduction of number of shoots of weeds on agro-meliorative field and improvement of meliorative state.
