FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of research and analysis of materials. Disclosed is a method of estimating aggregation of nanoparticles in colloidal solutions. Method involves directing laser radiation into a cell with the analysed solution, focusing inside the solution, collecting scattered radiation and directing it to the photodetector. Dependence of scattered radiation intensity on time is used to calculate autocorrelation functions (ACF) of scattered radiation intensity in initial image and in samples during aggregation. To estimate aggregation of nanoparticles in high-degree polydispersity solutions, calculating an integral of normalized ACF after subtracting the base line therein in the limits defined by the size of the analysed nanoparticles, its values are compared with the value obtained for the solution before the beginning of aggregation and the degree of aggregation of the nanoparticles is evaluated by the ratio of the obtained values to the value of the integral before aggregation.
EFFECT: invention provides higher sensitivity of the method and possibility of its use for polydisperse systems with simple and reliable algorithm of processing measurement results.
