SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to apparatus for making filters, comprising: feeding line adapted for continuous supply of filter material along longitudinal direction of transportation; forming device attached to the end of the supply line and adapted to impart to the filtering material a continuous body shape from the filter material and to feed the formed continuous body from the filter material, wherein the forming device comprises: tubular member (8) adapted to allow passage of the filter material therethrough to impart a continuous body of filter material to the filtering fibrous material; and steam generator (9) adapted for steam generation, wherein steam generator is connected with possibility of fluid transfer to tubular element in order to supply steam into filtering material; drain channel (10) connected to transfer the fluid to the tubular element and adapted to drain the fluid from the tubular member; valve adapted for opening and shutting off the discharge channel so as to provide or block release of fluid from the tubular element.
