FIELD: measurement.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to measurement equipment, in particular to devices for measuring electrical power. Electric power meter is proposed to register power consumption and module of adapter for it. Electric power counter (1) comprises measuring unit (2), communication unit (3) for transmitting data signals in the communication band over a power cable, a processing unit for controlling measuring unit (2) and communication unit (3). Communication unit (3) is configured to adapt the communication band to the communication medium and comprises a signal processing unit, switch (12) connected to the signal processing unit (11) and control unit (13) for controlling switch (12). Signal processing unit (11) has at least two operating modes depending on the state of switch (12) controlled by control module (13). At that, in the first operating mode, signal processing unit (11) selects electric signals from the first frequency band and supplies the selected electric signals to the power cable, in second operating mode, signal processing unit (11) selects electric signals from second frequency band and supplies selected electric signals to power cable. Control module (13) is configured to generate control signal (36) for controlling switch (12) based on configuration signal (35), wherein configuration signal (35) is dynamically generated.

EFFECT: technical result is simplification of two-way communication between the meter and object of power supply, as well as its reliability and safety due to communication on power cables.
